The Lake Charles, Louisiana native is a “Southern Jewish lesbian with a Catholic school education.” That’s how Kober describes herself during her most recent special, “No Flies on Me,” which was released in June. Kober blends stand up, storytelling and “improvised rock-and-roll performance.” She previously won back-to-back Comedic Performance of the Year awards from NPR’s hit storytelling show “Snap Judgement.”
